We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble

The sixth episode of Skeleton Crew has so many twists and turns that it left us biting our nails the entire time. Episode seven of Skeleton Crew begins with the kid’s parents, in the forest of At Attin, trying to build a makeshift transmitter so they can send a message to the kids. Suddenly, Security Droids appear and, one by one, stun the parents, but Fara, Fern’s mother, is successful in sending the transmitter.

Aboard the Onyx Cinder, Fern, Neel and KB are happy that they are on their way back home. Wim, on the other hand, is angry and disheartened that his life will go back to being boring now. Despite Wim’s frustration, the group reflect on the journey they have had as it has helped them grow.

Brutus, along with his crew in their ship, nears the Barrier. The pirate captain sees the Barrier with skepticism, not believing that there is a planet inside it. Jod, trying to save himself, mocks Brutus and calls him a fool, pointing out the truth of the planet below. He calls upon SM-33, who confirms that this is indeed At Attin and he has been there before. To test the Barrier, Brutus sends a fighter through, but it is unsuccessful and obliterated in the storm. Seeing this, Brutus gets up and shoves Jod into the airlock, demanding answers. Just the Jod sees the Cinder nearing At Attin. Jod quickly realizes that the Onyx Cinder is the key and asks Brutus to get the ship aboard the frigate using the tractor beam. 

The pirates deploy a tractor beam that traps the Onyx Cinder. As the ship is pulled into the pirate frigate's hangar, the Cinder's mechanical systems activate in defence. A shipment crane seizes Brutus, hoisting him into the air. KB, using her cybernetics, makes a robot voice over the comms and demands the pirates release the children. Jod sees this chaos as an opportunity to take control and shoot Brutus in the head, to the kids' horror. The pirates are not startled by this and quickly pledge loyalty to Jod, who orders them to find the children.

In Onyx Cinder, while the pirates and the kids are inside the Captain’s room, the message from the parents appears. Seeing the message, Fern gets motivated to try to come up with a plan to take back control of the ship. But before Fern is able to do something Wim’s impulsiveness leads to them being captured again.

Jod commands his crew to take the kids as hostages. Wim accuses Jod of lies and claims that the Cinder rightfully belongs to them. SM-33, invoking the Pirate Code, affirms Wim's claim. By law, the captaincy of the pirate frigate is now Jod's, which means that Cinder is right now leaderless. Fern uses this moment to argue that the Cinder is a "kids-only" ship. SM-33 agrees to this and knocks Jod unconscious, throwing the pirates off the vessel. The kids escape as SM-33 pilots the ship into the Barrier storm.

When kids and 33 aboard cross the barrier, Jod appears and beheads the droid with a lightsaber. He threatens the kids that whoever will defy him will face a fate worse than death. 

At Attin, the parents are detained by Security Droids to make them answerable for their actions. While they are having a conversation with the droid, a message from the Supervisor says that an emissary ship has come. The parents realize that their kids have come.

As the Cinder lands, Jod and the kids are taken to a vault. Seeing all these Republic Credits, Jod is overjoyed. Outside of the vault, the kids come to see their kids. Just the Jod comes outside igniting his lightsaber, then the scene cuts to credits.
