You Have a Lot to Learn About Pirates

After the thrilling end of episode four, the latest episode of Skeleton Crew offers yet another captivating chapter. It begins with the kid’s parents trying to find a way to deliver a message to their children. On At Attin, Wendle tries to access a code through which he would be able to send a message to the kids, but he is caught trying to do this by a security droid. The droid takes him to the supervisor, who turns out to be Fara, Fern’s mother. She helps Wendle cover his tracks up and also agrees to help him further after realizing that no one is going to help their kids get back home.

Meanwhile, aboard the starship, the kids are regrouping alongside Jod, with SM-33 still being deactivated. KB wakes the droid up, and he drops a bombshell. SM-33 explains that the ship they are on was once the infamous pirate vessel Onyx Cinder, which was captained by Tak Rennod, SM-33’s old captain. He further confesses he does not know the coordinates for At Attin but he does know that his captain has hidden the coordinates for the planet in his secret lair. Fern orders the droid to take him to Captain Rennod’s secret lair which he agrees to.

SM-33 takes them to Skull Ridge Mountain where the secret lair of Captain Rennod is located. As the pirate captain has been away for quite some time, the mountain has been turned into a tourist attraction and a luxurious spa. At the resort, Jod runs into an old acquaintance whom he has previously betrayed. She informs Brutus about Jod’s current whereabouts so she can collect the bounty placed on Jod’s head. Brutus immediately deploys two ships to the planet.

While all this is happening, Jod and the kids, along with SM-33, are trying to find the door to Rennod’s lair. They are eventually able to find the door and enter the lair. Once inside the lair, Jod asks everyone to spread out and search for the data log which will have the coordinates for At Attin. The crew find the data log, and Jod asks SM-33 to access it. The droid retrieves the coordinates for At Attin but, while doing it, also uncovers something far more significant than that from the logs. The records reveal why At Attin’s location is so well-hidden as it safeguards the Old Republic Mints, a treasure of immeasurable value. Upon hearing this, Jod shows his true pirate colours and challenges Fern to a fight. Fern, unable to fight and scared, yields, which makes Jod the new captain, something he was planning all along. After becoming the captain, Jod orders SM-33 to take the kids as prisoners. But before the droid is able to do something, the kids escape from the lair.
